Such a fun night tonight. It was great to see so many kid’s on the mats, and amazing to see some new faces too! 👌🏻😁

This young lady (Giaan) right here is an absolute legend - up from Bear Cave HQ in Ballarat, for a swimming carnival in the morning in Horsham. Begged her mum to let her train with us tonight, as she didn’t want to miss out on training. That’s commitment!!

When it comes to our front line medical workers and first responders, very little has to be said. Very often unsung, they are heroes in our community.

Just watched this interview on ESPN with Aussie MMA fighter Megan Anderson. In this interview she opens up about her mental health battles, leaving the military after being bullied, and overcoming/continuing to overcome mental health battles. Really fascinating stuff. Have a look if you haven’t already on the ESPN website. Martial arts teach us to be strong and face challenges, which means many of us in the martial arts community are the first to “suck it up, and get on with it” when things get tough. Unfortunately when it comes to mental health, for many of us, this suck it up attitude translates to “I’m going to just ignore the problem”. Remember - it’s takes real strength and bravery to face mental health challenges. I firmly believe this is something we should all talk about more often - Especially when training martial arts - self defence goes far beyond just the physical aspects.

Restrictions ease as of midnight tonight. So, back to training tomorrow for everyone. Guard passing for the kids, and De La Riva guard with the adults - can’t wait 😁👌🏻
